This added the extra space needed. Definitely need to use the Ringside Heavybag Spring to reduce vibrations. The only negative is the bolts go towards end of floor joists not middle of them (vertically speaking) so thank God for the heavy bag spring being so awesome. Using no spring or a small spring with this had my floor boards rattling, but the extra space it allows between the joists with the heavy bag spring worked out. Also, I hate to shorten the chain on the heavy bag about 5 links to make up for how tall the bag is and how long the spring is. I now have the perfect setup though.
This is working out good so far. I installed the hangar using 2 1/2" bolts. Like others have said, it is a good idea to use locktite for the eye screw because when hitting the bag hard the screw will eventually spin off of the bracket and the heavy bag will fall off. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.
Works great. Buy the coil spring for shock reduction. Love it.
Really solid construction. I have a 100-lbs bag hanging from it with no problem.
the one negative is that it does not come with any mounting hardware. I had to purchase bolts separately. It is not a big thing but you should be aware of it.
This mount does it's job well.
I had to purchase my own mounting screws, not a big deal but figure I give you a heads up. I would assume it could easily come with tho, as well.
I went with 1/2 inch bolts which work perfectly. Very sturdy.
Only other modification I will have to make is to apply some type of locking thread on the eye hook. Because it screws in, it can easily screw loose while hitting the bag. I have to occasionally pause and spin the bag clockwise to tighten it up again.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the product and see it as a long term solution to mounting my heavy bag. I have tried other options and this is by far the best.
I like the fact that I can squeeze to fit in an 14 inch space or pull out to a 16 inch space. Mounted nice with 4 - 3/8" lags.
My floor joists are 16" OC, and this was slightly larger than the opening between the joist, but flexed just enough to fit. Construction is very solid and I have no doubt it will hold out longer than my use. The eyebolt is not welded in place. I haven't decided if that's a good thing or bad. Even with a swivel on the chain, the eyebolt does come unscrewed over time. However, I like having the ability to remove it if I want. I don't have a spring on the rig yet, and that could help keep it in place. I could also put some nail polish on the threads to give it a little extra hold. I don't remember if hardware came with it, but I upgraded to 1/2" x 3" bolts. All in all, it works great.
